Interior Minister to Brief European Parliament Committees on Housing Priorities

The Minister of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, departs today for Brussels, where he will participate in sessions of the HOUS and EMPL Committees of the European Parliament. The purpose of the visit is to present the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union regarding the issue of housing. The Minister will inform the members of the Committees about the main objectives to be pursued during the Cypriot Presidency, with emphasis on the actions being promoted at European level to strengthen affordable housing, in accordance with the European Housing Affordability Plan. In addition, Mr. Ioannou will have a bilateral meeting with the Director-General of the EU Council, responsible for Agriculture, Fisheries, Social Affairs and Health, David Brozina, to further discuss the issue of housing and potential collaborations.
