Oman Foreign Minister: Welcomes Progress After New Round of US-Iran Talks

The Foreign Minister of Oman, a mediating country in negotiations between Iran and the United States, welcomed the progress made in the second round of talks held today in Geneva, aiming to prevent US military intervention. The "indirect negotiations" led to the identification of common goals and technical issues, however, much remains to be done. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran and Washington agreed on "a set of guiding principles" that could pave the way for a possible agreement, describing the round of talks as more constructive than the previous one. However, he stressed that time is needed to bridge the gap between the two sides and agreed to continue working on draft texts, with the aim of setting a date for a third round of talks.
