Cyprus Signs Ministerial Declaration on Protection of Civilians in Sudan

Cyprus has signed the Joint Ministerial Declaration on the Protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Operations in Sudan, expressing its deep concern over the ongoing lethal attacks against civilians and humanitarian organizations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that all parties must respect International Humanitarian Law. The declaration condemns violence against civilians and violations of International Humanitarian Law, emphasizing that attacks on humanitarian personnel and supplies may constitute war crimes. Ministers call on the parties involved to immediately cease hostilities and demand an immediate and impartial investigation of violations, with those responsible brought to justice.
