No Child Will Be Left Out of Class Due to Teacher Absence, Education Minister Assures

The Minister of Education, Athena Michailidou, assured that no child will be left out of class in the event of a teacher's absence, as immediate arrangements will be made to cover the gaps, either through replacement by other teachers or by attending another class. She also announced the upcoming reorganization of home education from the next school year, aiming to improve the criteria, methodology, and content, as well as better serve students who need it. The Minister emphasized that replacement hours are available for teachers and that the government is in dialogue with POED to find additional ways to cover short-term absences, which are the main problem. Furthermore, she stated that a teacher's absence for a short period is their right, especially for health reasons, and that the government does not want to create misleading impressions about the size of the problem.
