Energy Autonomy of State Hospitals Improves Functionality, Says Health Minister

Minister of Health Neofytos Charalambides stressed that the energy autonomy of the OKYPY hospitals contributes to improving their functionality and strengthening their financial resilience. He spoke during the inauguration of the Photovoltaic Park of the Nicosia General Hospital, emphasizing that investment in renewable energy sources is a strategic choice for reducing costs and releasing resources for the quality of health services. The project of the Photovoltaic Park symbolizes the transition of public hospitals to a more sustainable and efficient operating model. The green transition and energy autonomy are considered essential to make hospitals more competitive, modern and friendly to the environment and society. The Minister of Health praised the cooperation between the Ministry and OKYPY, with a common goal of ensuring a strong public health system.
