Σκηνές τρόμου εκτυλίχθηκαν στο Ηράκλειο, όταν 39χρονος άνδρας σε κατάσταση αμόκ καταδίωξε νεαρή μητέρα και το ανήλικο παιδί της κρατώντας τσεκούρι.
Ο 39χρονος εντόπισε τη γυναίκα στον δρόμο μαζί με το ανήλικο παιδί της και κινήθηκε απειλητικά προς το μέρος τους κρατώντας το τσεκούρι στα χέρια του, προκαλώντας τους πανικό. Για να προστατεύσει το παιδί της, η μητέρα το έκρυψε σε σπίτι της περιοχής, ενώ οι φωνές και τα ουρλιαχτά κινητοποίησαν τους κατοίκους, οι οποίοι έσπευσαν να τη βοηθήσουν.
Ο 39χρονος συνέχιζε να κρατά το τσεκούρι και βρισκόταν σε υπερένταση, με αποτέλεσμα οι αστυνομικοί που έφτασαν στο σημείο να δυσκολεύονται να τον ηρεμήσουν. Τελικά, του πέρασαν χειροπέδες και τον μετέφεραν στο Αστυνομικό Τμήμα Χερσονήσου.
Το περιστατικό σημειώθηκε το μεσημέρι της Τετάρτης στην περιοχή Γούβες, όπου σύμφωνα με το patris.gr, ο άνδρας προκάλεσε σοβαρές υλικές ζημιές με το τσεκούρι του στο αυτοκίνητο της γυναίκας.
Κατά τη σύλληψή του, ο άνδρας επέμενε ότι άκουγε φωνές που του έδιναν εντολή να σκοτώσει, λέγοντας χαρακτηριστικά: «Έχω εντολή από μία φωνή να σκοτώσω». Ακολούθως, μεταφέρθηκε στο νοσοκομείο για παροχή ιατρικής βοήθειας.
