Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and French President Emmanuel Macron met with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, at Andreas Papandreou airbase in Paphos to discuss regional developments. All three leaders reaffirmed their practical support for Cyprus, emphasizing that the country will not be involved in military operations but will offer humanitarian aid. President Christodoulides thanked Mitsotakis and Macron for their presence and stressed that the security of Cyprus is inextricably linked to the security of Europe. He highlighted the importance of European solidarity and Europe's determination to ensure security and stability in the region. President Macron stated that an attack on Cyprus is an attack on Europe and announced the deployment of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier near Cyprus. He emphasized the need for defensive and peaceful action and referred to the EU's Aspida operation to protect shipping lanes. Prime Minister Mitsotakis assured that Cyprus will not be left alone and that Greece will continue to provide support. He stressed the importance of European unity and the need to address the challenges in the region, including migration flows and security.
