BioLanta Factory Temporarily Closed After Deadly Explosion

The BioLanta factory in Trikala has been temporarily shut down following the deadly explosion that claimed the lives of five workers. The owner of the factory is in custody in Trikala prison, as he is accused of omissions and irregularities that led to the tragedy. Documents from an energy installation company reveal that safety gaps in the liquefied gas facilities had been identified as early as 2025, with an initial repair budget of 32,000 euros, later reduced to 22,300 euros. Additionally, problems were reported with cables and unsuitable spaces, while an employee stated that the warehouse where the explosion occurred contained a water cleaning machine connected to the electricity. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the explosion and the potential involvement of other individuals.
