Bank of Cyprus Attracts Strong Interest from International Investors

Bank of Cyprus attracted strong interest from international investment funds during its participation in the Morgan Stanley European Financial Conference in London, the largest on record. A total of 30 meetings were held with investment funds from Europe and the United States, with 5-6 investment organizations in each meeting. Among the investors participating were major international organizations such as Wellington, Allied Bernstein, Fidelity, and T Rowe Price, which manage portfolios of billions. Investors appeared particularly positive about the current performance of Bank of Cyprus, describing it as one of the most impressive turnarounds in the European banking sector and ranking it among the best capitalized banks in Europe. The discussions focused on the bank's business plan for the coming years, which combines high capitalization, liquidity, profitability and an attractive dividend policy. The recently announced dividend targets were considered very attractive and significantly higher than those of other banks in the region. Notably, investors showed little interest in the war in Iran, believing that increased geopolitical uncertainty is the new normal, but European banks are well capitalized to manage the new reality. They believe that Cyprus, despite its geographical proximity to the Middle East, is in good economic condition and can benefit from the situation in the region.
