Turkey: Aegis 'Shield of Zeus' System Intercepted Iranian Missile

The NATO's Aegis ballistic missile defense system, also known as 'Shield of Zeus', reportedly intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile heading towards Turkey. The missile was detected after entering Turkish airspace from Syria and was destroyed by an anti-ballistic missile launched from a NATO naval unit in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Aegis BMD system uses radar and anti-ballistic missiles to detect and destroy missiles at various stages of their flight. The interception was carried out by a NATO warship patrolling the Eastern Mediterranean. NATO has stated that it is ready to face any threat and has increased air defense measures in the region. This is the second incident of intercepting an Iranian missile in a short period of time, highlighting the increasing tension in the region.
