Tourism: Cypriot Presidency Outlines its Objectives

The Cypriot Presidency presented its priorities in the field of tourism to the Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN) of the European Parliament. The main goal is to promote a progressive agenda for tourism, with an emphasis on strengthening the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of the European tourism ecosystem. The Cypriot Presidency is working to submit such an agenda, based on existing action packages and strategies such as the Twin Transition Pathway and the European Tourism Agenda 2030. Simultaneously, preparations are underway for the consultation on the first Pan-European Strategy for Sustainable Tourism. The Informal Council of Tourism Ministers of the EU in Nicosia next April is expected to lay the foundations for a more competitive and resilient European tourism ecosystem.
