University of Neapolis Pafos Hosts AI Winter Cyprus Camp 2026 for AI Olympiad

The University of Neapolis Pafos hosted the AI Winter Cyprus Camp 2026 from January 31st to February 8th, aiming to strengthen the preparation of the Cypriot team for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. The camp was attended by 26 students from public and private schools, who participated in 11 Machine Learning competitions, focusing on solving problems with real-world data. The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) is an international student competition that requires participants to solve complex problems in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning under time constraints. The camp provided students with the opportunity to practice their skills in practical tests, such as predicting car prices and image recognition. The event fostered collaboration among students and provided contact with the university community and students of the BSc Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence program at the University of Neapolis Pafos. This allowed participants to get acquainted with the academic environment and the applications of Artificial Intelligence. The program was implemented by JetBrains in collaboration with the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) and the University of Neapolis Pafos, sponsored by the Leptos Group and supported by the JetBrains Foundation and Technology Leaders of the Future. The preparation of the Cypriot team will continue with further stages, aiming for the successful participation of the country in the international olympiad.
