Iran Denies Attacks on Cyprus, Turkey, and Azerbaijan

Iran denies accusations of attacking Cyprus, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, describing the allegations as “provocation.” The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, stated that the General Staff of the Armed Forces has explicitly and officially announced that no launches were carried out from Iranian territory or by Iranian military forces. Mr. Baghaei argued that Iran has always warned of provocation operations. Regarding the strike on the Nakhchivan airport, Iran hinted that Israel used drones to “draw” Azerbaijan into the war. Despite NATO reports of intercepting a missile heading towards Turkey, Iran insists it respects Turkey's sovereignty. Turkey responded by deploying 6 F-16s to Cyprus. Following the strike on the British base in Akrotiri, Iran maintains that no launch was made from Iranian territory, while Western intelligence services believe the drone was a Shahed type and was launched either by Iran or its proxies, such as Hezbollah.
