Award-Winning Drama "Wishbone" to Screen at Pantheon Cinema

The Cypriot co-produced, award-winning drama "Wishbone" will be screened at the Pantheon Cinema in Nicosia on February 11th and 12th, 2026. Directed by Penni Panagiotopoulou and written by Kallia Papadaki, the film explores the social and economic pressures of modern life through the story of Kostas, a young security guard who becomes the guardian of his niece after his brother's sudden death, while also struggling with family debts. He is then presented with a difficult proposition by a hospital orderly. The film is based on Kallia Papadaki's short story "Forty Days" from her book "The Sound of the Uncovered". The cast includes Yannis Karambabas, Konstantinos Avarikiotis, and Elena Mavridou. "Wishbone" has already received significant recognition at international festivals, winning the Audience Award and the Best New Actor Award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, and the Best Cinematography Award at the Festival del cinema Europeo. The production is a collaboration between companies from Greece, France, Germany, Cyprus (Felony Film Productions), and ERT, with the support of various organizations such as the Hellenic Film Centre and the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus.
