Πλέον όμως αποκαλύφθηκε και είναι, σύμφωνα με το Reuters, ο Ρόμπιν Γκάνινχαμ, που συνδέεται με την εταιρεία Pest Control, η οποία εμπλέκεται νομικά με το έργο του διάσημου δημιουργού.
Ο Banksy έγινε θρύλος για τις πολιτικά φορτισμένες και προκλητικές τοιχογραφίες του.
Η έρευνα του Reuters για την ταυτότητα του Banksy, που διήρκεσε έναν χρόνο, με τίτλο «Αναζητώντας τον Banksy», έφτασε στο συμπέρασμα πως ο Banksy είναι ο Γκάνινχαμ.
Τα πρόσφατα ευρήματα διαψεύδουν τις φήμες που ισχυρίζονταν ότι ο καλλιτέχνης είναι ο Ρόμπερτ ντε Νάια, frontman του trip-hop συγκροτήματος Massive Attack.
