Turkey Builds Radar Stations in Occupied Cyprus for Maritime Monitoring

Turkey is proceeding with the construction of maritime monitoring stations in the occupied territories, in Karpasia, Agios Theodoros, and Livera. The purpose of the 'Eastern Mediterranean Ship Traffic Services' project is to collect and transfer data to Turkey, enhancing the monitoring of maritime traffic in the region. Simultaneously, a central control station is being built in occupied Famagusta, which will integrate data from radar and automatic identification systems. This move is considered to serve Turkish interests in the area and strengthen Turkey's ability to closely monitor maritime activity in the Eastern Mediterranean.
