Four-Year-Old Girl Dies at Makarios Hospital

A four-year-old girl passed away today at noon at the Makarios Hospital. The child had been admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, intubated and in critical condition, from Limassol General Hospital on Saturday. According to the Cyprus Organisation of State Health Services (OKYPY), the cause of death was multi-organ failure as a result of infection with the Flu A virus. The news has caused sadness and highlights the need for protection against the virus.
