Cypriot Students as Active Co-Creators of Europe

Dimitris Boglou, national coordinator of the CONSIMIUM program, highlights the program's significant contribution to the education and activation of Cypriot students in European affairs. CONSIMIUM, a simulation of European processes, offers students a unique opportunity to participate meaningfully in shaping European policies. The program allows students to take on roles of responsibility, such as presidents, ministers and ambassadors, and to negotiate and make decisions representing Cyprus. This boosts their confidence and cultivates a sense that the voice of young people matters. CONSIMIUM functions as a school of democracy, teaching students the importance of dialogue, compromise and collective responsibility. Participation in the program is open to students from all Cypriot universities, enhancing collaboration and creating a common experience. The selection of students is done in a transparent and equitable manner, through a lottery. The program contributes to the formation of active European citizens and prepares them for future professional and political challenges.
