Turkey Builds Wall Against Iran for Potential Regime Collapse

Turkey is preparing for a potential collapse of the regime in Iran and a possible refugee wave, according to officials who participated in closed briefings at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Ankara is considering establishing a “safe zone” on the Iranian side of the border and has significantly strengthened security along the 560-kilometer border with Iran, installing advanced surveillance systems and barriers. Turkish authorities estimate that a conflict in Iran could displace up to one million people. Simultaneously, there is concern about the US military buildup in the region, with Washington considering potential strikes against Iranian officials. Turkey opposes any foreign intervention and calls for a diplomatic solution. According to the same sources, approximately 4,000 people have been killed and 20,000 injured in recent protests in Iran, due to rising inflation and the collapse of the rial.
