Rampaging Elephant Wreaks Havoc After Interrupted Mating

An elephant in Thailand caused chaos and extensive damage in a village after being interrupted during mating. The elephant, named Phlai Petch Uthai, had been brought for breeding purposes and reacted aggressively when its owner attempted to move it away. During its rampage, the elephant overturned a car, damaged vehicles and traffic signs, and seriously injured its owner. It took the intervention of experts and the administration of a sedative to immobilize the animal after two hours. The elephant is now under observation, while the injured man is hospitalized. The incident highlights the challenges associated with managing captive elephants in Thailand.
