Tatar: Republic of Cyprus Policies Have Made Island a Target

Former Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar stated that the policies of the Republic of Cyprus have made the island a target due to international military collaborations. He argued that the Greek Cypriot side has turned into an arms base, endangering tourism and security. Mr. Tatar criticized the policies of President Christodoulides, saying that he “cut the branch he was sitting on.” He emphasized that Turkey is following a balanced diplomacy in regional crises, as it did in the Russia-Ukraine war, and that the Turkish Cypriot side is acting in coordination with Turkey for stability in the region. Mr. Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriot side has taken a position according to its own interests and that he does not foresee an immediate danger to northern Cyprus, although he prays for the safety of all.
