Four Arrests from Yesterday’s Police Operations – 30 People Driving Under the Influence, 8 Under the Influence of Drugs

The Cyprus Police carried out extensive operations across Cyprus, aiming to prevent criminal activities and increase the sense of security. During the operations, four people were arrested for offenses such as illegal stay, driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of drugs. During the checks, 1,035 vehicles were stopped and 1,282 drivers and passengers were checked. 41 checks were carried out on premises, resulting in 6 complaints for violations of license terms. A total of 283 traffic violations were recorded, of which 92 were for speeding. 30 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and 8 under the influence of drugs. In addition, 20 vehicles were impounded. The police operations continue with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action, in order to protect citizens and ensure public order.
