Four Killed in Israeli Strikes in Eastern Lebanon

Four people have been killed in Israeli strikes in eastern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese news agency. The Israeli army announced that it targeted the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement. Despite the ceasefire that came into effect in November 2024, Israel continues to launch strikes in Lebanon, mainly in the south, and maintains troops in Lebanese territory. The Israeli army also targets Palestinian organizations present in Lebanon, such as Hamas. Yesterday's strike was the first against Palestinian Islamic Jihad since the ceasefire began. According to the Lebanese news agency, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the Lebanon-Syria border. Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas had taken responsibility for attacks and attempts to infiltrate Israel from Lebanon during the hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. More than 370 people have been killed in Lebanese territory since the ceasefire came into effect, more than 100 of whom are civilians, according to the UN. The Lebanese army has completed the first phase of its plan to disarm Hezbollah, but neither Hamas nor Palestinian Islamic Jihad has announced an intention to disarm.
