Pentagon Announces Nearly $9 Billion Boeing Contract for Israeli F-15s

The Pentagon announced a nearly $9 billion contract with Boeing for the construction of 25 new F-15IA fighter jets for the Israeli Air Force, with an option for the acquisition of an additional 25. The announcement came shortly after the meeting between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida. The contract includes the design, integration, instrumentation, testing, and delivery of the aircraft, with deliveries expected to be completed by December 31, 2035. The contract award to Boeing reaffirms the long-standing US military support for Israel, the closest US ally in the Middle East. Despite demonstrations and calls to end military aid to Israel due to the war in Gaza, the administrations of Trump and Biden have not considered such measures.
