Sotiris Koumas (PASYKI): Doctors Should Participate in Decisions Regarding Medications and Patients

The president of PASYKI, Sotiris Koumas, stated in the morning edition of ASTRA that doctors should participate in decisions concerning their patients, given that they are responsible for their health and prescribe medications. Their opinion, according to Mr. Koumas, should be taken into consideration in every decision regarding medication. Furthermore, PASYKI expresses its protest against the way doctors in the public sector are treated, criticizing OKYPY for the delays in conducting investigations into complaints against them and issuing findings. Mr. Koumas emphasized the need for equal treatment of doctors, as all financial aspects are managed by OKYPY. He considers it unacceptable for the reputation of public hospitals and doctors to be tarnished without timely and thorough investigation. PASYKI seeks to ensure that the professional dignity of doctors is protected and that patients receive the best possible care, with the participation of their doctors in making decisions about their health.
