Nearly 50% of February's Rainfall Fell in Three Days

The Meteorology Department has released preliminary data indicating that almost 50% of February's rainfall occurred during the three-day period of February 13-15. The average rainfall during these three days reached 23.4 millimeters, bringing the total rainfall in free areas of the Republic to 49.7 millimeters, representing 61% of the normal rainfall for the month. The areas with the highest rainfall during the three-day period were Platanias (67.8 millimeters), Prodromos (63.2 millimeters), and Saitas (48.0 millimeters). This data is preliminary and subject to change. Regarding the total rainfall since the beginning of February, Prodromos recorded the highest amount with 156.8 millimeters, covering 108% of the normal rainfall. Platanias followed with 139.0 millimeters (94% of normal), Pano Panagia with 103.5 millimeters (90% of normal), Saitas with 100.6 millimeters (90% of normal), and Stavros tis Psokas with 98.8 millimeters (73% of normal). These figures indicate significant rainfall in certain areas, with Prodromos standing out for the amount of rain recorded so far. The Meteorology Department continues to analyze the data, with further updates expected.
