Cyprus Police Raid in Larnaca Uncovers Illegal CBD Products and Cannabis-like Substance

Members of the YKAN (Cyprus Police Drug Squad), the Intellectual Property Theft and Illegal Betting Unit, in collaboration with the Customs Department and the Pharmaceutical and Health Services, conducted a coordinated search of a business in Larnaca. During the search, 38 packages/products containing cannabidiol (CBD), the circulation of which is prohibited in Cyprus, and 193 packages containing dry plant matter resembling cannabis were found and confiscated. Additionally, the Customs Department seized 147 more products. The search was carried out in the presence of the 57-year-old employee of the store. The YKAN and the Larnaca Central Police Station continue their investigations into the case. This operation is part of the authorities' efforts to combat the illegal trafficking of prohibited substances and products. The seizure of CBD products and the suspected plant matter highlights the strictness of Cypriot laws regarding cannabidiol and cannabis, as well as the authorities' determination to enforce these laws.
