AMD–Tata AI Collaboration in India, Putting Pressure on Nvidia

AMD announced a strategic collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to develop artificial intelligence data centers in India, aiming to strengthen its presence in the fastest-growing market and put pressure on Nvidia. AMD will provide the Helios plan for data centers and will work with TCS to support up to 200MW of AI infrastructure. This move is part of a broader AMD strategy to provide integrated AI solutions, from hardware to data center design, to governments and businesses. TCS has already announced a plan to enter the data center space, targeting a capacity of up to 1.2GW. AMD is increasing its market share in the artificial intelligence accelerator market, with Arista Networks reporting that about 20–25% of chip developments are heading to AMD, compared to Nvidia's dominance in the past. In addition, AMD is proceeding with the acquisition of the cloud startup Pensando for $1.9 billion, strengthening its presence in networking and infrastructure technologies for data centers.
