A four-member ministerial delegation from Cyprus concluded a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, aimed at strengthening and deepening bilateral relations. The delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, also included the Ministers of Energy, Agriculture, and the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation. During the visit, meetings were held at political and technical levels with their counterparts in the UAE. Discussions focused on economic and trade cooperation, with an emphasis on investment, as well as collaboration in areas such as desalination, water resource management, and technology. Specifically, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to establish a Comprehensive Strategic Energy Cooperation, setting a long-term framework for cooperation in the energy sector. The talks also included developments in Gaza and the situation in Ukraine. This visit is a continuation of Cyprus' efforts to deepen its relations with the UAE, during a period of increasing regional uncertainty. The Cypriot side seeks to capitalize on the investment opportunities offered by the region and cooperate with the UAE to address common challenges, such as climate change and energy security.
