COA-GSO Meeting: Discussions on Upgrading Tsirion Stadium

A meeting between the Limassol Municipality, the Cyprus Sports Organisation (COA), and the Cyprus Olympic Committee (GSO) focused on the upgrade of Tsirion Stadium. Discussions centered on renovating the track ahead of the international athletics meeting in May, as well as the structural upgrade of the stadium. The importance of the venue was highlighted, along with the possibility of transforming it into a sports park with modern facilities for athletes and residents. Furthermore, the construction of a bridge over the highway to connect the stadium with the Agia Fyla area was discussed, aiming to improve accessibility. The Limassol Municipality committed to allocating €50,000 for the creation of a Master Plan for the upgrade. The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBE) also pledged to contribute a matching amount, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for the project's implementation. The upgrade of Tsirion Stadium is considered significant for the sports community of Limassol and for attracting international sporting events.
