Agreement with Chevron Expected in February, Announces Bayraktar

Turkey's Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced that an agreement with Chevron is expected to be signed in February in Istanbul. This agreement follows the signing of an agreement with ExxonMobil in January for joint research in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and other regions. Bayraktar emphasized that other international collaborations in the energy sector are also expected, with specific research and exploration projects to be announced within 2026. He described 2026 as a “golden year” for Turkey’s energy diplomacy and production.
