50 Tons of Waste Collected After Limassol Carnival

The Limassol Municipality successfully completed the cleanup operation after the grand carnival parade, fully restoring the city's appearance within hours. Archbishop Makarios III Avenue was reopened to traffic at 9:00 PM, while the total cleaning of the city center was completed around 4:00 AM. 50 workers, 14 sweepers, 2 garbage trucks, 4 diggers, 1 loader, 1 vacuum truck, and 4 large trucks participated in the operation. 35 tons of confetti and 15 tons of mixed waste were collected, totaling 50 tons of waste. The Mayor of Limassol emphasized that the success was due to political will, clear decisions, and investment in strengthening the fleet and equipment of the Cleaning Service, with the addition of five new modern sweepers. The Mayor stated that Limassol demonstrates in practice that with planning, administration, and investment in infrastructure, the Municipality can respond quickly and effectively to the city's needs, upgrading its services and building a modern and organized Municipality.
