Schoolgirls Cut Hair for Children with Cancer: A Touching Gesture of Solidarity

A touching initiative took place at the 16th Primary School of Limassol, where students cut their hair to help children battling cancer. The action was carried out on the occasion of World Childhood Cancer Day and aimed to support the Karaiskakio Foundation. The students expressed their joy and emotion at the opportunity to offer help, emphasizing the importance of giving and solidarity. More than ten students participated in the initiative, while other students also contributed financially. The school principal stressed the importance of giving and love, while a teacher mentioned that the idea started four years ago from one child and has now become an institution. The Association of Men's and Women's Hairstylists offered its services, while an oncologist pointed out that around 4000 new cancer cases are diagnosed in Cyprus every year, of which 2000 can be cured. The event raised 1500 euros, which will be donated to a family in need of financial assistance to cope with serious health problems abroad. This initiative is a shining example of solidarity and giving in society.
