Targeted Police Operations in Cyprus: Arrests and Over 110 Citations Issued

The Cyprus Police continue their targeted operations to prevent and suppress crime. Throughout the night, extensive checks were carried out in urban areas, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals across the island. In Limassol, four people were arrested for offenses such as carrying a knife, illegal possession of property, traffic violations, and assault on a police officer. Additionally, two individuals were arrested in the provinces of Larnaca and Paphos for outstanding arrest warrants related to fines and failure to appear in court. Checks were conducted on premises to prevent illegal activities. On the road network, over 400 checks were carried out, resulting in over 110 traffic citations. Nine of these were for driving under the influence of drugs, while 7 cars, one motorcycle, and one stolen motorcycle were confiscated. These operations are part of a broader preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action, aiming to enhance the sense of security for citizens.
