SEK to Define Financial Reporting Standard

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) has been designated by the House of Representatives and the Minister of Finance as the competent authority for defining the Financial Reporting Standard for Small Entities (FRS for Ses). The new legislative framework simplifies the preparation of financial statements for small entities, allowing them to use a simpler standard tailored to their needs. This standard will not apply to entities of public interest, listed companies, financial institutions, and other supervised entities. Its implementation will be optional and will be based on IFRS for SMEs, aligned with European Directive 2013/34/EU. Prior to implementation, approval from the Minister of Finance and the European Commission is required, and the timeline will be announced later. ICPAC will create a dedicated space on its website to provide information and supporting materials.
