Employee Allegedly Bets €34,645 Without Paying, Detained for 4 Days

A 26-year-old betting shop employee in Limassol was arrested for theft amounting to €34,645. According to the Police, the employee placed bets on games of chance without paying for the coupons. The case was reported on February 15th by the owner of the betting shop. The suspect was found discarding coupons in the trash. Following the taking of testimonies, an arrest warrant was issued and the 26-year-old was arrested. The Limassol court ordered his four-day detention for further investigation. The case concerns the illegal acquisition of money through betting without paying the corresponding amount. The Police continue their investigations to determine if there were any other persons involved in the case.
