Mother's Testimony Reveals Past Domestic Violence in Stilianos' Case

The trial concerning the suicide of 14-year-old Stilianos Konstantinou continued with the testimony of three police officers. During the hearing, the lawyer for Defendant 3, a social worker, requested further details regarding the indictment, arguing that it does not clearly state the legislation that forms the basis of her duty, the omission of which is allegedly a crime. The Prosecution opposed this, arguing that the indictment is sufficient and the relevant legislation arises from the evidence in the case. The request was rejected by the President of the Court, who ruled that the charges adequately define the offense. A total of 218 charges have been filed against 11 individuals, including the parents of the minor and social workers. The charges against the father relate to physical and psychological violence, while those against the mother concern failure to report incidents of violence. The social workers are accused of negligence of duty. During today's hearing, a police officer testified about a complaint filed by the mother in 2009. The testimony concerned arguments with the child's father. The case continues with the examination of witnesses and the presentation of evidence, aiming to determine the responsibilities for the death of the 14-year-old.
