Cyprus-Wide Power Outage Leaves Many Areas in Darkness

A widespread power outage occurred across Cyprus on Wednesday afternoon, leaving many areas without electricity. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) announced that the outage was due to a fault in the power generation system. EAC spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou estimated that power would be restored around 7:40 PM. The fault caused problems for both residential and business consumers, and the EAC is working to restore normal system operation as quickly as possible.
