Trade Unions to Meet with President: Minimum Wage and Foreign Workers on the Agenda

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will meet with representatives of the trade unions SEK, PEO and DEOK on Wednesday, February 25th. The meeting is taking place at the request of the trade unions and will focus on important labor issues. The agenda includes improving the minimum wage and hourly compensation, extending collective agreements based on the European directive, the strategy for employing workers from third countries, and the implementation of the Ergani 2 software. The trade unions are also expected to raise the issue of pension system reform, as well as the link between public contracts and the implementation of collective agreements. The trade unionists express concerns about the irregular granting of permits to workers from third countries and the procedures followed in the labor market.
