Cyprus' Harmonized Inflation Rate Projected at 0.8% for 2025

The annual harmonized inflation rate in Cyprus is projected to reach 0.8% in 2025, according to data from the Statistical Service. In December 2025, inflation recorded a slight increase of 0.1% compared to December 2024, while on a monthly basis, a decrease of 0.4% was observed. Compared to December of the previous year, the largest price increases were seen in the categories of Recreation and Culture (5.1%) and Restaurants and Hotels (4.4%), while Clothing and Footwear (-7.9%) and Housing, Water, Electricity and Fuels (-3.2%) recorded the largest decreases. On a monthly basis, the largest changes were found in the categories of Transport (-1.7%) and Restaurants and Hotels (-0.9%), due to lower fuel prices and seasonal factors. For the entire year of 2025, Recreation and Culture (6.2%) and Restaurants and Hotels (5.2%) recorded the largest annual increases, while Clothing and Footwear saw the largest decline (-6.4%). At the level of economic categories, the largest annual decrease was recorded in Energy (-5.4%), while on a monthly basis, Services recorded the largest decrease (-0.8%). These figures indicate disinflationary pressures at the end of the year, despite the small annual increase in inflation.
