Makis Keravnos in Brussels – To Present Cypriot Presidency Priorities on Wednesday

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, will travel to Brussels on Monday, February 23, 2026, to chair the Council General Affairs session on Cohesion Policy. At the session, Ministers will approve conclusions on the agenda for cities, highlighting the importance of cities for economic development and social cohesion. Mr. Keravnos will also present a document on lessons learned from the mid-term evaluation of the 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy and how to use them in the new programming period. On Wednesday, February 25, the Minister will present the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency to the Regional Policy (REGI) and Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committees of the European Parliament. The presentation will focus on Cohesion Policy and the priorities of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) in the areas of economic policy, taxation and financial services regulation. This will be followed by an exchange of views with members of the European Parliament.
