President of Parliament to Attend European Parliamentary Week in Brussels

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, and a parliamentary delegation will travel to Brussels to participate in the European Parliamentary Week, co-organized by the European Parliament and the House of Representatives. Ms. Demetriou will address the Conference on the European Semester and the Interparliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the EU, together with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. During the visit, President Demetriou will hold bilateral meetings with the President of the European Parliament and the President of the European People’s Party, Manfred Weber. She will also be the keynote speaker in a discussion on 'Parliamentary Leadership for an Autonomous Union, Open to the World,' organized by the Women Political Leaders Network (WPL). The parliamentary delegation consists of members from various committees of the House of Representatives. The European Parliamentary Week is taking place within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, aiming to strengthen cooperation and address common challenges. The work program includes parallel sessions of European Parliament committees and discussions on issues such as strengthening technological sovereignty, competitiveness and sustainable development, as well as promoting employment and social security.
