The Minister of Health, Neophytos Charalambides, emphasized the Ministry's support for the development of an organized resuscitation system, both pre-hospital and in-hospital. This was stated during his address to the two-day conference of the Cyprus Resuscitation Council in Limassol, titled “Looking to the Future of Resuscitation – New ERC Guidelines (October) 2025”. The Minister mentioned that the Ministry supports initiatives that strengthen education, certification, quality, and harmonization with European guidelines, aiming to create a cohesive framework for care focused on the individual. Resuscitation is considered an integral part of the strategy to enhance patient safety and the resilience of the healthcare system. Furthermore, Mr. Charalambides highlighted the need for continuous dissemination of knowledge in the field of resuscitation, as well as the revision of existing practices and protocols due to technological advancements. Continuous training of healthcare professionals and the dissemination of knowledge through scientific conferences are essential. Finally, he referred to the progress in completing the “Unified Intrahospital Resuscitation Policy”, which resulted from the cooperation of all stakeholders and is expected to be completed within the year.
