Arrestees in Deadly Factory Explosion Appear Before Prosecutor

The three people arrested in connection with the fatal explosion at the 'Violanta' factory in Trikala – the owner, the safety technician, and the shift technician – have appeared before the prosecutor. The indictment against them includes charges of manslaughter, grievous bodily harm, arson, and explosion. The explosion was caused by a propane leak, detected in pipes that had been punctured. Workers had reported a gas smell for days, but no appropriate measures were taken. The company states it is fully cooperating with the authorities to investigate the causes of the tragic incident. A three-day period of mourning has been declared in the municipality of Trikala.
