26% in Baden-Württemberg Desire Cooperation with Far-Right AfD

A YouGov poll in Baden-Württemberg revealed that 26% of respondents would like to see other parties work with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD). This figure comes just weeks before regional elections in the state, and in a year with elections in five of Germany's 16 federal states. The AfD has seen a rise in popularity, particularly in eastern Germany, but also in the west, where it currently ranks third in polls in Baden-Württemberg with 20%. Despite its gains, Germany's mainstream parties have ruled out any cooperation with the AfD, which is monitored by intelligence agencies as a suspected extremist organization. However, the poll indicates a decrease in opposition to potential cooperation.
