30-Nation Military Alliance Formed to Secure Freedom of Navigation Through Strait of Hormuz

Britain and France are leading the formation of a military alliance of around 30 countries aimed at restoring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. This initiative comes in response to escalating tensions in the region and Iran's de facto obstruction of passage through the Strait. According to reports, London and Paris will coordinate the efforts of a multinational force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz when conditions allow. Countries such as Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada have already participated in preliminary talks. The alliance has received international support, with 30 countries signing a joint statement condemning attacks on commercial vessels and energy infrastructure and calling on Tehran to stop actions obstructing navigation. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime artery for global oil and liquefied natural gas trade.
