Cyprus Received €186.35 Million in State Aid in 2024

Cyprus received state aid amounting to €186.35 million in 2024, according to the Results Table published by the Office of the Controller of State Aid. This amount corresponds to 0.11% of the total aid at European Union level. The aid was mainly directed to the areas of research, development, innovation, culture and agriculture. Despite efforts to strengthen the utilization of the Exempted Regulations, Cyprus continues to lag behind other member states. The overall trend shows a shift towards sustainability, with significant aid to the areas of energy and environmental protection.
