Stolen Grain from Crimea Shipped to Occupied Ammochostos Port

The sanctioned cargo ship «Kapitan Yakovlev» (IMO: 9077575 - Maltese flag) has loaded stolen grain from Sevastopol and is heading to the occupied port of Ammochostos in Cyprus, carrying over 4,000 tons of grain. Journalist Kateryna Yaresko published the information, stating that the ship was in Kamishova Bay from January 15 to February 13, 2026, loading grain after unloading cargo from Eregli. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the ship is systematically involved in schemes to export stolen Ukrainian grain from occupied territories. In May 2025, it transported grain from Berdiansk, and in December 2024 from the same port to the Russian port of Temryuk. It is also used to supply occupied territories, including Sevastopol. In January 2025, the ship was undergoing repairs in Sevastopol, but in May of the same year, it made a route transporting grain from Mariupol to Ammochostos (Northern Cyprus, under Turkish control). Ukraine imposed sanctions on the ship on November 25, 2025. Russia systematically exports grain grown in occupied Ukrainian territories, presenting it as Russian exports, using the infrastructure of occupied ports. During 2025, over 2 million tons of grain were transported from occupied territories, with approximately 1.4 million tons transported in the second half of the year.
