Somalia: Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Shallow Waters – All Passengers Safe

A passenger plane in Somalia made an emergency landing in shallow waters near Mogadishu International Airport after a technical malfunction, with no injuries reported. All 50 passengers and five crew members are safe. The Starsky Airlines plane, a Fokker 50, reported a problem shortly after takeoff and the crew requested to return. During the attempted landing, it failed to stop on the runway and ended up in the sea. Despite this, the plane stopped in shallow waters, allowing the safe evacuation of passengers. The airline stressed that the pilot’s quick response was crucial to the success of the rescue. The cause of the technical malfunction remains unknown.
