Serious Clashes Erupt in Minneapolis After ICE Shooting

Serious clashes erupted in Minneapolis following the shooting of a 37-year-old American citizen by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents. The man died as a result of his injuries, and videos circulating on social media show agents restraining and shooting him during a struggle. The Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, condemned the incident and demanded the immediate withdrawal of ICE from the state, describing its operations as “horrific” and its agents as “violent and untrained”. A general strike has been declared, and protests against ICE are planned. The Mayor of Minneapolis described the video as “six masked agents shooting one of our citizens to death”. Police have warned protesters to disperse and refrain from damaging property. The man had a prior record only for traffic violations and legally owned a firearm.
